Coating versus Line Coating Batch coating means parts are done in a batch not on a conveyor line. Each part receives individual treatment. We can pay more attention to corners, inside surfaces, hard-to-get areas and intricate designs. We can coat one part or 10,000 parts. We can coat one part red and the next green and so on. This allows us to coat a needle on the first run and complete a wrought iron Volkswagen on the next run. Line coating means that the parts are put on a conveyor and go through a tunnel that accommodates only certain size parts and are passed in front of some automated guns that don’t get intricate patterns; they are set to coat small parts on two sides without corners or inner sides. |
